PART 2

"...I went to my brother and begged him to surety me and he refused, I went to one woman that has been nice to me and begged her, she accepted and came to work the next day with me.

I began learning tailoring and one morning my brother asked me to leave. My landlady and her daughter pleaded with him as usual but he refused saying I was man enough and should go and hustle.

I had no place to go, didn't know anyone except my aunt that I lived with. I had no friend, nobody!

I moved out with tears, and begged my landlady to keep some of my things at her place till I return from work that day.

I got to work very late and my boss asked me why, I narrated all that happened and he had pity on me.

I pleaded with my boss to allow me sleep in the shop after work, it was a hard decision for him but he granted it.

I got home that day and told my landlady everything that happened at work, I also informed her that I'll pack my things to live in our shop for the moment.

She was so sobber, gave me words of motivation and adviced me never to give up. I packed my things, thanked her and left.

I got to the shop so broken and in tears asking myself what I ever did to deserve this kind of condition.

After work each day, I'll iron all the clothes my boss has sewed during the day. Then at night when I'll want to sleep, I'll join two tables and lay on it and as usual mosquitoes will feast on me.

I helped my boss in all his chores including washing and ironing his clothes every Saturday every Saturday. That was my way of showing appreciation to him.

After 2 months, the mosquito bites became so unbearable for me that i had to meet our next neighbor in my brother's apartment to please squat me till Christmas period when I'll travel to the village.

Christmas was just around the corner so he agreed. We lived in Peace, I made sure i did everything needed for me to do before going to work.

Sometimes on my way back from work, if I have money with me I'll buy enough Garri and Sugar and keep in the house so we can at least be drinking it.

It was so hard for me to feed so I had to quit the tailoring work and started looking for a job that can earn me money.

I got a job as a pump attendant in a fuel station and barely a month I started the work we were robbed by armed robbers.

They pointed guns to our head and demanded for all the money we had and we gave them.

After everything, the manager of the fuel Station said we were to pay for the money the robbers took from us which was a very huge amount, mine alone was about 50k.

I was earning 9k as salary then, they stopped paying me and said they will continue paying after their 50k is complete from my salary.

I had to start helping our female neighbor to sweep the compound and wash the toilets and She paid me 1k each week.

It was that same woman who was my surety when I wanted to learn tailoring that sympathized with me.

She brought me food at work whenever she would pass there and tell me to come to the house after work to have dinner.

My colleagues started gossiping about the woman being my sugar mommy because of the way she and her husband and children cares for me.

I even at some point starting thinking that she had another motive cos the attention she was giving me was too much.

I haven't felt that kind of love all my life, not even from my family. I had to just keep an open mind while thanking God for the gift of that woman.

By November, my brother started hating the guy that was squatting me and was always trying to cause a rift between them.

It became too much and the guy had to ask me to leave. He gave me time to plan myself and on 23rd Dec 2019, I left for my village.

Before i left, our landlady called me and told me to come back after Xmas, she assured me that where I'll sleep will never be a problem, I agreed and left..."
