Everyday i have to remind myself “Do not lose touch with reality”
The moment you start to make a lot of money, you start to lose touch with reality. That’s why people will be having a conversation on N20,000 and one bro from 2 streets away will come with “Its just $23” I just shake my head anytime ... Load more

I just shake my head anytime i see tweets like that because i know that person has lost touch with reality and they don’t even realize it.
I earn in dollars, a lot of it, so i understand how $23 can be ‘just’ to me when i envision how much i make weekly but it’s ‘just’ to me doesn’t make it ‘Just’. The ‘to me’ there changes everything.
Now the next time a conversation like that is happening, before you do a silly conversion, ask yourself is this ‘just to me’ or ‘just to everyone’
Go outside and touch grass, organ sellers are paying harvesters N20,000 to bring human parts for them. Someone is willing to kill another human for N20,000, that is exactly how big ‘just $23’ is out there.
Your circle of tech friends, crypto/forex traders, fraudsters, drug pushers, etc do not make up to 10% of the entire population. You think “Money dey Lagos” because you stay in Lekki, Ikoyi, VI, wait till you visit the remaining of the 37 LCDAs
The reason why you’re comparing Yahoo with Tech is because you’ve lost touch with reality.
“You can just learn on youtube”
“Register for coding classes”
“There are courses on udemy”
Do you realize how expensive data subscription is? No you don’t because you can easily pay 1TB bundle on your 5g plan. My brother & sister in tech some people don’t know how they’ll feed the entire week, not to talk of learning on youtube.
Even to learn the tech skill might take you at least 6 months to 1 year of buying data & paying for courses.
The young guy in the streets only needs a facebook/IG page with a fake identity to start yahoo. It costs less data to chat a client for 3 months.
I’m not justifying yahoo but we must tackle the root problem. Take out your anger on the Government, they are the cause of the multi dimensional poverty in the land and look at them making it worse daily.
Nigerians are very smart people and with a better platform & background we can excel at anything but the Government has refused to give us a better platform.
